Autumn in new york city workshop 

It isn't everyday most people get to meet their industry idols; in fact, sometimes I feel as if they almost aren't real (kinda like my obsession for Taylor Swift, what a Queen!). For the past few years, I have been infatuated with and inspired by the work of Cara Fitch, owner of Trille Floral and Courtney Reese Di Trolio, owner of Winsome Floral; and by obsessed, I mean *saving everything they posted* level of obsessed. They both deliver soft, feminine floral creations with intentionality and effortless beauty, the very thing I aspire to provide for my clients.

In the fall of 2022, these delightful women teamed up and cohosted a floral intensive workshop where florists such as myself got to learn their approach to floral design, product sourcing and large floral installation skills.  And let me tell you, this entire trip was straight out of a fever dream!

Not only did I get to gain new skills and take away some more tips and tricks to better service my couples, I also had the pleasure of meeting other influential florists from across the country. Ranging from the beaches of California, the mountains of  Utah or the rolling countrysides of Kentucky, we all shared our own experiences of "flowering" in our respective locations, the joys and challenges that come with it, and our overwhelming love for our job.  

Over the course of the workshop, we got to experience bouquet workshops, centerpiece workshops, personal feedback and instruction on all our designs, tour the New York Flower Market on 28th street in Manhattan, build two large installation pieces, and dine at the famous Celeste overlooking the Manhattan Bridge from Brooklyn. 

I also had the pleasure of bringing my husband, Josh, for this magical trip. We got to stroll through multiple city parks, graze through cafes and enjoy Autumn in New York together with all my flower friends.
